Recreation

From PGA tournament links to Frisbee golf courses, North Carolina's largest water park to the relaxing waters of a world class spa, there's no lack of things to do in Greensboro. At less than half a day's drive away from the mountains and the beach, Greensboro is a prime location for all out door recreation activities. Greensboro's recreational offerings include:

  • 27 golf clubs and courses, including two championship courses and a first class par three course.
  • 170 parks including botanical gardens and a national military park with miles of walking and bike trails.

  • Two hours drive to the Blue Ridge Mountains in Asheville, NC, and three and a half hours to Wrightsville Beach in Wilmington, NC.

  • North Carolina's Zoological Park is located in the magnificent rolling hills of the Uwharrie Mountains, near Asheboro just 45 minutes from Greensboro. It is proud to be the country's largest and finest walk-through, natural-habitat zoo. The 37 acre African Plains exhibit is as large as many entire zoos!

  • Grandover Resort and Conference Center  functions as a first class conference center, with meeting rooms to suit every need. It is a 4.5 star resort with elegantly appointed guest rooms and suites that offer breathtaking views of a world class golf course.

  • The Triad has access to several lakes for recreation. Oak Hollow Lake, High Point City Lake and High Rock Lake are readily accessible.
