Guilford County Schools K-12

Educational opportunities are truly unlimited in Greensboro, with area high schools that rank in the top 4% in the nation, and options to customize the learning experience for each student. Guilford County School's turnover rate and the school systems dropout rate are among the lowest in North Carolina.

Programs of Note

Weaver Education Center

A center offering vocational/technical, performing arts, advanced academics and distance learning programs to all high school students

College Tech Prep

An initiative to prepare high school students for technical occupations and two-year Associates degrees

Gateway Education Center

A Pre-K-12 school with enrollment of nearly 200 children with orthopedic disabilities or other learning challenges

International Baccalaureate

The IB program is a rigorous, two-year course of study for highly motivated 11th and 12th grade students.

Magnet Schools

Twenty magnet schools offering regular, comprehensive curricula plus specialized themes or studies such as communications, cultural arts, math/science, foreign language, two year-round schools, two extended-year schools and two Montessori schools

Early/Middle College

There are seven Early/Middle College high schools located on local college campuses that offer students an alternative to the traditional high school setting
