The strength of our existing businesses showcases that Greensboro is as an excellent home for transportation and logistics operations. Greensboro is distinguished by large distribution hubs, sophisticated logistics companies, and manufacturers who ship large quantities of goods from local facilities. 


Perhaps the most notable of these is FedEx, currently building its new Mid-Atlantic Air Hub at Piedmont Triad International Airport.  The facility is the fifth FedEx Air Hub to be constructed in the U.S. and will have the capacity to sort 24,000 packages per hour.  Also key to Greensboro’s success is the UPS ground facility, which sorts 44,000 packages per hour in a 282,316-square-foot facility. 

Companies like Procter & Gamble, Kmart, Linens’ N Things, Harris Teeter, Polo Ralph Lauren and Tyco Electronics Corporation run immense distribution operations in the area.
