Ameritox, Ltd. to Open New Facility in Greensboro, Hiring 228
October 21, 2009 – (Greensboro, NC) Ameritox, Ltd., the nation’s leader in pain prescription monitoring, announced today that they will open a new laboratory and material analysis facility in Greensboro. The company will upfit an existing building to accommodate their operations. Ameritox plans to hire approximately 228 employees by 2010.
Greensboro offers a strategic location for Ameritox, and the company was also attracted by Greensboro’s growing life and bioscience industry as well as excellent training programs offered by Guilford Technical Community College, BioNetwork Pharmaceutical Center, and the North Carolina BioTechnology Center. This is a very exciting project on many levels according to Dan Lynch, President of the Greensboro Economic Development Alliance. “Greensboro leadership has worked very hard to position the region as an ideal location for life and bioscience companies,” commented Lynch. “The Triad is supported by outstanding educational assets and innovative health systems, so we were able to meet the company’s very specific employment and training requirements. The decision by Ameritox to site their laboratory facility here validates those efforts and reinforces our industry cluster strategy.”
The Greensboro Economic Development Alliance (GEDA) worked closely with local educational partners and life sciences representatives throughout the site selection process. The strong team effort of the entire community is what made this project possible. GEDA extends special thanks to the North Carolina Department of Commerce, the North Carolina Community College System and BioNetwork, Guilford Technical Community College, the North Carolina BioTechnology Center, and The University of North Carolina at Greensboro for all of their support to bring Ameritox to Guilford County.
A member of the Greensboro Partnership, Greensboro Economic Development Alliance’s mission is to facilitate the creation of high quality jobs, attract new capital investment, retain and expand existing businesses, improve per capita income and generally improve the quality of life in Greensboro and Guilford County.
