MSI will relocate this fall from 50,000 sq ft at 1034 Boulder Road in Greensboro to 153,000 sq ft at 6511 Franz Warner Parkway, Rock Creek Center in Whitsett, the current location of Pass & Seymour Legrand.  The company expects to add 145 new employees by 2015, primarily skilled technicians and engineers, and more than double their current workforce.  This expansion represents about $5 million in new capital investment for machinery, equipment, and building upfit.

MSI President Rob Simmons, stated, “We are pleased to announce this expansion and are proud of our success in Greensboro over the past 40 years and look forward to the implementation of this state-of-the-art project.”  To grow their business, in spite of the economy, MSI has focused on its customers and finding out what else MSI can do to for them.  Rob Simmons pointed out that “I told my staff last year that the recession is coming and I’ve elected not to participate.”   Their customers demand excellence, and by offering detailed, highly precision machining, a one-stop shop, and a turnkey approach, MSI continues to grow, – projecting 34% sales growth this year.   The company has also diversified – most recently into serving the energy industry.

“Machine Specialties, Inc. is a very sophisticated, high-technology company and we are pleased to help retain them in our community and better position them for future growth,” stated Dan Lynch, President of Greensboro Economic Development Alliance.
