Greensboro Economic Development Alliance Announces Canplast Expansion
Greensboro, NC (May 19, 2008) – The Greensboro Economic Development Alliance is proud to announce that Canplast, will be expanding its workforce to create greater manufacturing capacity in their Greensboro location.
The company will add 33 employees by the end of 2008 that will serve as Plastics Machinery Operators. Canplast is known in North America as a premier Edgebanding supplier to the woodworking industry. Products include both polymer and paper Edgebanding, as well as hot melt adhesives. Canplast is a subsidiary of the German company SURTECO. SURTECO’s North American edgebanding manufacturing locations are in Greensboro, Montreal, QC and Brampton, ON.

The Greensboro Economic Development Alliance (GEDA) worked closely with Canplast by helping them access training and other community support programs that will help them prepare for the workforce expansion.
