Greensboro Economic Development Alliance Announces Kay Chemical Expansion

Greensboro, NC – The Greensboro Economic Development Alliance is proud to announce that Kay Chemical, an Ecolab Company, will be making a multi- million dollar investment to expand its Capital Drive facility to accommodate an industry changing product line.

The company plans to hire approximately 25 new employees and invest in new machinery and equipment over the next year. 

Kay is a leading supplier of cleaning and sanitizing products used in the fast food and grocery store markets. Kay also operates Research & Development, Microbiology and Engineering laboratories for the evaluation and testing of new products.

“This expansion is exciting for Greensboro,” said GEDA president Dan Lynch. “Kay is an excellent corporate citizen that has been in our community for 75 years and, with this expansion, will ensure that they will continue to provide high-quality jobs to Greensboro residents for years to come.”

The Greensboro Economic Development Alliance worked closely with Kay by facilitating incentive requests and supporting the company throughout the expansion decision process. GEDA is pleased at the team effort that made this project possible and extends special thanks to the Greensboro City Council. Kay will celebrate their expansion with a groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday, June 26 at 1 p.m. at their facility at 8300 Capital Drive in Greensboro, NC.
