Educational opportunities are truly unlimited in Greensboro, with area high schools that rank in the top 4% in the nation, some of the most prestigious private schools in the state, and progressive specialized schools that are unmatched outside of major metropolitan areas. Guilford County gives parents and students the opportunity to customize their learning experience by providing a range of educational choices within the 107 public and 35 private schools that make up the school system. Guilford County Schools’ teacher turnover rate and the school system’s dropout rate are among the lowest in the state. In addition to excellent institutions for higher education in the area, Greensboro can also boast a successful public school system with a wide variety of options for every child.

Greensboro has a diverse selection of private schools focusing in different areas. There are over 30 schools to choose from including Classical Christian education at Caldwell Academy, to diverse and challenging instruction at Greensboro Day School, to elite training at the American Hebrew Academy. The nation’s first and only liberal, pluralistic Jewish boarding school, the American Hebrew Academy has outstanding 9th-12th grade students in rigorous college preparatory and Jewish studies courses. Almost 7,000 students take advantage of private school instruction in Guilford County.
