Workforce Training

Guilford Technical Community College

The North Carolina Community College System offers a valuable economic development tool: company-specific customized training. In Guilford County, the New and Expanding Industry Training (NEIT) program is administered at Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC). GTCC's primary goal is to train the adult workforce of Guilford County through its many programs of study.

Companies creating 12 or more jobs in excess of their previous three-year maximum employment are eligible for assistance through the NEIT. Resources may support training assessment, program development, instructional costs, and training delivery for new front-line personnel involved in the direct production of goods and services and their first supervisors.

For more GTCC information go to: http://technet.gtcc.cc.nc.us

Greensboro-High Point-Guilford County Workforce Development Board

The Workforce Development Board provides assistance to new and expanding companies through their WorkKeys program that evaluates job seekers based on the skill requirements of the company. The board pre-screens applicants and refers candidates that will best meet the company's needs.

North Carolina Employment Security Commission (NCESC)

The Commission provides employment services, unemployment insurance, and labor market information.  Services Cover a wide range of employer needs from prescreening applicants to furnishing space for an employer to conduct interviews or testing in the ESC local office.
