Incentives
The City of Greensboro, Guilford County, and North Carolina offer a variety of incentives to businesses that relocate to our community. More and more companies are deciding to take advantage of the "pro-business" attitude that exists here. The Greensboro Economic Development Alliance is eager to assist qualified companies that are in the position to positively impact the area's economy.
Local Incentives:
The City of Greensboro and Guilford County have formal policies
for assistance to new and expanding companies based upon job creation,
capital investment and employee wages.
State of North Carolina Incentives: North
Carolina incentives include the Job Development Investment (JDIG), the One
North Carolina Fund, and Article 3J Tax Credits. Industrial revenue bonds
can also be issued by Guilford County for the financing of manufacturing
projects on low interest rates.
Workforce Training Assistance:
New and Expanding Industry Training (NEIT) grants provide state-funded
training, customized for the company, delivered on-site or at a
Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) campus. The Greensboro-High
Point-Guilford County Workforce Development Board helps businesses
locate, screen, select or train workers.
Utility Assistance:
Duke Energy provides for an
Economic Development Rider for qualifying companies contributing to
the economy of the Duke Energy service area. With the rider, companies
can receive a 20% reduction equal to the best available rate, with
a cumulative reduction of 50% over four years.
Property Selection Assistance:
The Greensboro Economic
Development Alliance staff will assist clients with the identification
of suitable properties. Site tours can be arranged with or without
the participation of the real estate broker. Complete confidentiality

Private Sector Assistance:
The Greensboro business
community is eager to assist companies that are creating a positive
impact on the economy. Such assistance could include: creative financing
packages, employee relocation assistance and special offers from
potential vendors.
