Commuting Patterns
As the largest urban center in the Piedmont Triad, Guilford County attracts thousands of workers daily from neighboring counties. Typically, 72,000 people, who reside in other counties, travel to Greensboro and Guilford County for work. The four adjacent Counties of Randolph, Forsyth, Davidson, and Rockingham account for over 10,000 commuters each.
The map below shows that Guilford County attracts the largest number of workers from outside the county and that the majority of residents of Guilford County remain here to work.
